Ohwi 原料来源：为豆科多年生落叶藤本植物葛Pueraria lobata(willd)Ohwi的根。除上述正品外，尚有同属植物食用葛藤 Pueraria edulisPamp、蛾嵋葛藤 P.omeidnsis Wang et Tang、甘葛藤P.Thomsonii BenLh，、三裂叶野葛藤 P.Phoseoloides (Roxb.)Benth.等的块根，在少数地区亦作葛根使用。主要成份：葛根提取物主要提取葛根中的葛根素、大豆甙等黄酮类（Iso-Flavonoids）化合物，还有三萜类、香豆素类等。含异黄酮成分葛根素(Puerarin)、葛根素木糖甙(Puerarin-xyloside)、大豆黄酮(Daidzein)、大豆黄酮甙(Daidzin)及β-谷甾醇(β-SitosteIrol)、花生酸(Arachidic acid)，又含多量淀粉(新鲜葛根中含量为19～20%)。甘葛藤的干根含淀粉37%三裂叶野葛藤的根部含淀粉15～20%。从印度的同届植物 Pueraria tuberosa 的根中分离出葛根素、大豆黄酮、大豆黄酮甙、β-谷甾醇、4"，6"-二乙酷葛根素(4"，6"-Di-o-acetyIpuerarin) 和豆甾醇(Stigma-sterol)。野葛根含大豆素(daidzein)约0.13%、大豆甙(daidzin) 约 0.13%、大豆素-4ˊ,7-二葡萄糖甙(daidzein-4ˊ,7-diglucoside)、葛根素(puerarin)、葛根素-7-木糖甙(puerarin-7-xyloside)、4ˊ，6″-O-二乙酰葛根素(4ˊ,6″-O- diacetylpuerarin)及淀粉10%-14%。尚含尿囊素(allantoin)、β-谷甾醇、胡萝卜甙、6ˊ,7- 二甲氧基香豆素、5-甲基海因(5-methy-hydrantoin)及酚性物质、葛甙(pueroside)A,B等。药理作用： 1．对心血管系统的作用（1）对血压影响葛根素和总黄酮都有一定的降压效果。如静脉注射葛根总黄酮后，可使麻醉犬的血压下降，剂量增加作用加强，给予不麻醉的高血压犬静脉注射总黄酮或葛根水煎剂、醇浸膏治疗，也有一定的降压效果。葛根素、葛根大豆苷元能使自发性高血压大鼠血压降低，血浆肾素下降和血管紧张素下降。（2）改善脑循环临床研究证实葛根有改善脑循环的作用，如给高血压动脉硬化患者肌注葛根总黄酮后，病人脑血流图改善，这种改善作用并非单向扩张血管增加血流量，而是双向性的，从脑电图观察，能使低幅波升高，高幅波降低，使异常波趋于正常，加之葛根尚能减弱去甲肾上腺素的升压反应，这些作用都可能是其改善头痛、项强的重要原因。（3）扩张冠脉葛根总黄酮和葛根素有明显的扩张冠状血管的作用，能使正常和痉挛状态的冠脉扩张。（4）改善心肌功能由于葛根总黄酮等能使血压降低，心率减慢，总外周阻力减少，从而使心肌耗氧量降低，同时还能改善心肌氧代谢和乳酸代谢，提高心肌工作效率。 2．解热作用实验研究表明，葛根的水溶性及脂溶性提取物PA4、PA5、PM2和PW3有使正常小鼠体温降低的作用；PA4和PW3的作用较持久而明显，其它的提取物则为暂时性体温降低。 3．对胃肠平滑肌的作用葛根提取物对豚鼠离体回肠有明显的松弛作用，葛根中所含的大豆苷元有明显的松弛平滑肌的作用。 4．其他作用葛根素和提取物还具有降血糖、血脂、解酒、止泻等。临床应用：葛根提取物用于治疗心脑血管类疾病，如高血压，偏头痛、冠心病、心肌梗塞、心绞痛、视网膜动脉阻塞、视网膜静脉阻塞、突发性耳聋等症，可以替代中药葛根。同时广泛用于保健食品（用于解酒、丰胸、延缓女性更年期、糖尿病引起的并发症等）等领域。
