Tilmicosin (as tilmicosin phosphate) 250 mg 
Description 
Tilmicosin is a semi-synthesized macrolide antibiotic used for livestock and poultry. It has an in vitro 
antibacterial spectrum that is predominately Gram-positive with activity against certain Gram-negative 
micro-organisms. Activity against several Mycoplasma species has also been seen. 
Indications 
Tilmicosin Oral Solution is indicated for the control and treatment of respiratory infections associated with 
micro-organisms susceptible to tilmicosin, such as: Mycoplasma spp., Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia 
haemolytica, Actinomyces pyogenes and Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae in calves, pigs, sheep and goats. 
Tilmicosin Oral Solution can be used for the treatment of infections in poultry and turkeys caused by Mycoplasma 
gallisepticum (CRD), Mycoplasma synoviae (arthritis/synovitis), Mycoplasma meleagridis (in turkeys) and of 
Clostridium perfringens (necrotic enteritis). Also indicated for treatment of diseases like Haemorrhagic 
Septicaemia and CCPP (Chronic Caprine Pleuro-Pnemoniae) in sheep and goats. 
Contra-indications 
Do not administer in case of hypersensitivity or resistance to tilmicosin. 
Do not administer together with other macrolides or lincosamides. 
Do not administer to animals with an active microbial digestion in rumen or large intestines, especially not to 
horses. 
Do not administer during pregnancy and lactation: use only after a risk/benefit assessment by a veterinarian. 
Overdose may cause heart and kidney toxicity. 
Do not administer to poultry producing eggs for human consumption or to animals intended for breeding 
purposes. 
Side-effects 
Possible cardiac toxicity (tachycardia and decreased contractility). Occasionally, a transient reduction in 
water or (artificial) milk intake has been observed upon treatment with tilmicosin. 
Dosage and administration 
For oral administration via drinking water or milk (calves). 
Calves : 1 ml per 25 kg bodyweight, twice daily, dissolved in (artificial) milk, during 3 - 5 days. 
Sheep, goats : 1 ml per 12.5 - 25 kg bodyweight during 3 - 5 days. 
Poultry, turkeys : 300 ml per 1,000 litres of drinking water during 3 - 5 days. 
Pigs : 800 - 1,600 ml per 1,000 litres of drinking water during 5 - 7 days. 
If needed extend treatment to 10 - 21 days. 
Note: Medicated drinking water or (artificial) milk should be prepared fresh every 24 hours. To ensure a 
correct dosage, the concentration of the product should be adjusted to the actual fluid intake. 
Withdrawal period 
Meat: Calves, sheep, goats : 14 days 
Poultry, turkeys : 12 days 
Pigs : 14 days 
Milk : 4 days 
Storage 
Store in a dry, dark place between 15Â°C and 25Â°C. 
Keep in closed packing. 
Keep medicine away from children. 
Packing 
1 litre PE-Pharma bottle (12 bottles per box).
