COMPOSITION 
Vial containing4 gof
Ceftiofur base as sodium salt. 
Vial containing 80 ml of sterile diluent (sold separately). 
Each ml of reconstituted solution contains 50 mg of Ceftiofur base. 
 
 
PROPERTIES 
Ceftiofur is a third generation cephalosporin acting by inhibition of the
peptidoglycan synthesis in the bacterial cell wall. It is active against Gram+
and Gram- bacteria, including ß-lactamase producing strains. 
 
 
INDICATIONS 
Cattle
: respiratory diseases (shipping fever,
pasteurellosis, -), infections caused by susceptible bacteria, Foot rot. 
Swine
: respiratory diseases (pasteurellosis,
streptococci, actinobacillosis, -) 
Chicken
: Infections caused by E. coli and Staphylococcus
in day old chicks. Early chick mortality. 
 
 
CONTRA-INDICATIONS 
Do not use in animals previously found to be hypersensitive to Ceftiofur. 
 
 
ADMINISTRATION
AND DOSAGE 
Reconstitution of the solution: Reconstitute the solution by adding 80 ml of
sterile solvent to the4 gvial. 
Cattle
and Swine : deep intramuscular route. 
Cattle
: 1 mg per kg bodyweight, equivalent to 1 ml of
reconstituted solution per50 kgbodyweight. 
Swine
: 3 mg per kg bodyweight, equivalent to 1 ml of
reconstituted solution per16 kgbodyweight. 
In case of severe swine pneumonia, the effective dose is 5 mg per kg
bodyweight, equivalent to 1 ml of reconstituted solution per10 kgbodyweight. 
In cattle and swine, the dosage should be given once daily at 24 hours
intervals for 3 days. May be administered up to 5 days as required. 
One day old Chicks: subcutaneous injection in the side of the neck. 
0.08 to 0.20 mg per chick. 1 vial of4 gis enough for 40000 chicks. 
Administer only once. 
 
 
SIDE-EFFECTS 
The use of the product may cause occasional and transient local discomfort upon
injection. 
 
 
PRECAUTIONS 
After handling the product, wash skin carefully with abundant water and soap. 
Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.µ 
 
 
STORAGE 
Keep the product in its original container protected from light, between5°Cand 25ºC. The reconstituted solution
may be stored in a fridge (2°C- 8ºC) for a maximum of 7 days. 
 
 
WITHDRAWAL
PERIOD 
Meat Cattle : 1 day / Swine: 2 days
