Dia 2.6 Niobium Wire 


A large
proportion of the world's niobium is used in the production of nickel,
chromium and iron-based superalloys in purely metallic form or in the
form of high-purity ferroniobium and niobium-nickel alloys. These
alloys are used in jet engines, gas turbine engines, rocket assemblies,
turbochargers and heat-resistant combustion equipment. Niobium forms a γ "phase in the grain structure of superalloys. Such alloys usually contain up to 6.5% niobium. Inconel
718 alloy is one of the niobium-containing nickel-based alloys
containing 50% of nickel, 18.6% of chromium, 18.5% of iron, 5% of
niobium, 3.1% of molybdenum, 0.9% of titanium and 0.4% of aluminum. Applications include as a high-end body material, as used in the Gemini program.
