Aircraft squid is named like this because of it`s head looks like an aircraft. The appearance of the color of aircraft squid is white and deep purple, squid cylinder is not round. This animal lives in the northern Pacific Ocean, in the area surrounding Japan, along the entire coast of China up to Russia, then spreading across the Bering Strait east towards the southern coast of Alaska and Canada. They tend to cluster around the central region of Vietnem.

Major fishers of the Japanese flying squid are mainly Japan (with the highest usage and catch in tons), the Republic of Korea (with the second-greatest catch), and relatively recently, China. Within all countries where it is being fished, the squid is also exported to many other countries for consumption, with the United States being a top importer. Japan is the largest consumer (mainly due to sushii) and exporter of the Japanese flying squid.


Chinese medicine believes that the squid have nourishing yin tonic, moisturizing function, its nutritional value favorably in beef and tuna. Hectogram dried squid contains 66.7 grams of protein, 7.4 grams of fat, and contain large amounts of carbohydrates and calcium, phosphorus, sulfur and other inorganic salts. Fresh squid protein content is as high as 16% ~ 20%, very low fat content, is only about 4% of the general meat, so the heat is much lower than the meat, for fear of fat people eat squid is a good choice.
