They control the start, stop and direction of a flow.<br />
The directional valves basically consist of housing , one type of actuation &nbsp;(hand lever), control spool &nbsp;and one or two return springs .<br />
When de-energized, the control spool &nbsp;is held in the central position or in the initial position by the return springs &nbsp;(except for version "O").<br />
The control spool &nbsp;is moved to the desired spool position by means of the types of actuation.<br />
