Molybdenum disilicide heating element is a kind of resistance heating elements based on molybdenum disilicide. When sintered molybdenum silicide products are heated to high temperature in an oxidizing atmosphere, a layer of compact quartz glass coating would be created on its surface, which would protect the products free from oxidation. Therefore, molybdenum disilicide elements have unique high-temperature oxidation resistance. In oxidizing atmosphere the maximum temperature is 1700 degree no more than crystal melting point 1713 degree.
Molybdenum disilicide elements resistance does not change with use, in other words, that is not aging, so you can mix old and new components.
Molybdenum disilicide element, having same mechanical properties with other ceramics, is brittle material at room temperature and easy to break, which brings much trouble to the transportation and installation. But as long as installing reasonably and using properly, that could be avoided.
