在太阳聚光领域，菲涅尔透镜是聚光太阳能系统（CPV)中重要的光学部件之一。太阳菲涅尔透镜聚光镜就是，透镜的焦点刚好落在太阳能芯片上。当透镜面垂直接面向太阳时，光线将会被聚焦在电池片上，汇聚了更多的能量，因而需要较小的电池片面积，大大节约了成本。

应用菲涅尔透镜能够将太阳光聚焦到入光面1/10至1/1000甚至更小的接收面（高性能电池片）上，比传统平板光伏（FPV)发电效率提高30％以上，满足太阳能聚光发电（CPV)和聚热系统（TPV)中高能量高温需求。
