Carrageenan is a wholly natural polysaccharide hydrophillc gum extracted from Phodophyceae red seaweed.

We in Kevin Food use selected raw seaweed materials of Philippine, Indonesia and China origins to develop and formulate carrageenans with specific physicochemical properties of water binding, thickening, gelling, stabilizing, suspending properties.

We have two Carrageenan factories in Hainan province, the capacity of our refined Carrageenan is 1000MT/year; while the capacity of our semi-refined Carrageenan is 1500MT/year.

Our standard grade refined & semi-refined Carrageenan specs is as follow:

Appearance: odorles white powder
Potassium Gel strength: >1400g/cm2; (refined grade)
(1.5%+0.2%KCl, 20C) >1200g/cm2; (refined grade)
>450g/cm2; (semi-refined grade)

Viscosity: 20-200cps
pH: 7-11
Transparency: >80%

Total Plate count: <5000cfu/g

In addition to Kappa type Carrageenan, we also supply Iota type Carrageenan, which provides low TPC < 3000cfu/g(Total plate count).
