Waveplates (retardation plates or phase shifters) are made from materials which exhibit birefringence. The velocites of the extraordinary and ordinary rays through the birefringent material varies inversely with their refractive indices.Our waveplates within wavelengths range of 200-2300nm, including octadic-wave (lambda/8), quarter-wave (lambda/4), half-wave (lambda/2) and full-wave (lambda) plates, are widely used in synthesis and analysis of light in various states of polarization.
